Daily Regimen

Gotta love your skin!

I’m always chock-full of crazy ideas, and my latest brainchild is the total revamp of this blog!  I know there really wasn’t much here to begin with, but I know I was going somewhere with it initially …

I’ve been a total makeup/skincare junkie lately, so to start off this mini relaunch, I’d like to share my current daily beauty regimen.  I have somewhere between light to medium skin, with yellow undertones native to East Asians.  My skin is ridiculously oily and sensitive, and my biggest problems are clogged pores and hormonal acne.

Cleanser: Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash

A dermatologist in Thailand recommended Neutrogena to me a long while ago.  This is a great inexpensive cleanser that is effective for me.  On days that I have tons of makeup on (from Thai dancing, most likely), I wash my face with this at least twice.

Day Moisturizer: Eucerin Everyday Protection Face Lotion SPF 30

Started using this after I read about it on frmheadtotoe.  Works great, feels light, doesn’t clog pores, and it has sun protection!  The low price is a plus.  So far, I’m lovin’ it.

Night Moisturizer: Johnson & Johnson’s Baby Milk Cream

I asked my dad to buy me this cream from Thailand.  I was a huge fan of the original Baby Cream, but unfortunately, they never carried it in the States.  He got me two gigantic pots of the “Milk Cream” version of the product, which initially scared me since it contained mineral oils.  Lucky for me, it never broke me out!  The heavy consistency is perfect to use for night time.

Eye Cream: Shiseido Bio-Performance Super Eye Contour Cream

This was one of those Sephora splurges.  I freaked out one day after I thought I noticed crazy wrinkles under my eyes, and I convinced myself that I needed something AMAZING to solve the problem.  I use this sporadically, sometimes in the morning or perhaps in the evening, but at least once a day.  I have to admit that my eyes gradually looked better upon use, but the price tag is so steep that I’ll be looking for an alternative after the bottle runs dry.

Beauty Boost: Lancome Genifique Youth Activating Concentrate

I have a ton of samples of this product, so I figured: why not try it out?  I’ve been using this for the past couple weeks, both AM and PM, right before my moisturizer.  It’s a serum of sorts, but has it shown a difference in my skin?  To be honest, I haven’t seen any significant change.  I wouldn’t buy this when my samples are gone.

Exfoliator: St. Ives Naturally Clear Apricot Scrub

I actually use this once or twice a week, so it’s not really part of my “daily” routine. Don’t want to rub my face raw! Another cheap product that works really well.

Toner/astrigent was once a part of my regimen, but I removed it once my face began to peel!  It was totally drying out my skin, which continued to stay oily despite all the flakiness.  I saw a HUGE difference after the toner was gone.  As long as you have a good cleanser and moisturizer, I don’t think toner is necessary.

I would mention my acne products, which is a total must in my regimen, but I received them from a dermatologist in Thailand!  He has his own line of skincare products, and I forget his address.  I’ll have to mention him in further detail later.

Coming up soon: my Black Friday hauls!  Whenever I get them!
